Liberals ALWAYS baby the killers and kill the babies.
We can see that the most vociferous supporters of capital punishment display their lust for blood. We can all ask oursleves the same question: Why does the state have to kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong? If capital punishment could restore life to the victims there wouldn't be a debate raging on. But, that will never happen. Only a higher level of evolving decency in an enlightened society will put an end to this useless process of state-committed murder. I say "murder?" Yes, because on the death certificate of every executee the cause of death is attributed to HOMICIDE. This is truly a contradiction of tremendous moral weight.
I am so tired of the bleeding-heart liberals causing the deterioration of this great nation. So the murderer "grimaced" in pain during the execution. I wonder what expressions his victim had when Diaz MURDERED him??? Who appealed to the governor and human rights groups then??? (I'll give you a hint - it wasn't the bleeding hearts that turn out in droves during an execution)
Sadly enough, the victim(s) is(are) always overlooked when one of these low-lifes finally gets what they deserve. I say, good job Florida!!! One more criminal off the taxpayer payroll and justice for the victim's family.
If you commit the ultimate crime then you deserve the ultimate penalty. If things go wrong it is both unkind and tough - but a direct result of your initial actions.
Action against a killer would not be taken unless he/she has killed and Angel Diaz had a serious history of violence. The correct sentence was given, but the execution was delivered poorly.
Too much time has been wasted in appeals and procedures. Just euthanase once guilt is established.
Solving our problems by killing people is a national disgrace. We need to end capital punishment in America.
The facts of Angel Diaz's case are little known by most. Angel was not the shooter, no eyewitnesses placed him at the bar, three of four state witnesses later recanted their testimony.Only a matchbook linked Angel to the crime scene, and it could have been left there several different ways.
Sammy Toro was the shooter. Five years after the case, and 2 murder charges in MASS, he told FL officials if he got a deal, he would give them the killer. Toro received a life sentence, the 2 MA murder charges were dropped. State prosecutors told Angel and wrote in other memos they knew he didn't do it. Even Toro eventually said Angel was an innocent man.
Yet, Angel Diaz got the death penalty after a 3 day trial where he represented himself. the appointed attorney didn't know his name and hadn't prepared the case. Angel spoke only Spanish, the pd only English. Many other errors were present in this sham of a trial.
Yet Angel Diaz literally died for a crime he didn't commit. There are many cases in Florida, where the killer didn't commit the crime. Look at the Frank Lee Smith case to start with, Juan Melendez, and the list in Florida continues to lengthen.
Perhaps it is time for legislators and criminal justice workers to "Be Tough on Crime Prevention", not just tough on crime. Start with the children who are abused sexually, physically, and psychologically. Provide services that will stop creating criminals out of these children. Place a value on American children in this country. Then you will see less crime.
And we can lose the rank of having one quarter of the world's prison population.
Anyone who believes the appeals process is too lengthy has not known one of the innocent locked away in the hellhole of a single cell. With a system this flawed, none of us can trust the outcome of any trial. Until the flaws are fixed, we can't be sure that we won't be next. Unless we have a few hundred thousand dollars to hire a top criminal defense lawyer, and even then it won't necessarily give you an acquital
the victim of Diaz's crime would not be able to make any expression aside from shock. the man was shot and die where he fell. he suffered for at least 5 minutes tops, but diaz suffered 34 minutes of chemicals eating away at his muscle tissue. shame on anyone who believes that execution is the answer to dealing with criminals.
